Our Philosophy
Across the schoolyard, a student dips a brush into turquoise paint and spreads it on his paper canvas. Under the slide, another young child builds a castle out of buckets while her friend digs a moat in the fresh, cool sand. A teacher kneels inside the front gate, welcoming a new student. In the wooden playhouse two kids stir a pretend soup; a working parent places an order at the window. Another teacher sits between two students as they figure out together who’s next to drive the toy bus. A group of students dashes up the stairs and laughs their way down the slide.
The mission of Westchester Parents Nursery School is to instill a love of learning in both our children and their families. Our care and instruction provide skills that prepare our children to confidently meet the challenges of a global and diverse world. We highly value the time-tested principles of child development. We recognize and appreciate the unique qualities of each child, and structure the learning environment and curriculum accordingly. We encourage creative play in our safe and natural surroundings where fresh air and riding a tricycle are as important as learning the ABCs.
By providing a cooperative atmosphere of respectful communication, support and community, our families develop friendships that carry on for years.
Come bring your child and play with us at our co-op during school hours. Call today to arrange a play date.
