Open House -2012

WPNS is parent participation preschool (also known as a co-op) where parents, children and teachers learn together. The guiding philosophy of WPNS is to foster a positive self-image in every child and nurture a healthy respect for others. While academic concepts are creatively integrated into each day, our emphasis is on learning through play. We believe each interaction with a child is an opportunity to strengthen natural curiosity and wonder. By encouraging problem-solving and communication skills, WPNS helps children value themselves and their community and relate to others with mutual respect.
In the spirit of our child-centered, whole family approach, prospective parents are encouraged to bring their children to ourOpen House. Parents will tour the school and meet WPNS parents, staff and board members. Children will have the chance to interact with teachers and current students on the play yard.
Come meet our amazing teachers and learn about other aspects of our diverse community, including:
- environmentally responsible atmosphere where kids learn to recycle, compost, and make nutritious food choices that minimize waste;
- exposure to local cultural attractions through monthly field trips;
- enrichment classes such as yoga, cooking, pottery, and karate;
- monthly parent education evenings with experts in child development, parent/child relationships, public school choices, etc.;
- and much more!
